February 23rd, 5pm at Park Road Montessori Orff Exploration for Chorus Parents and Students
Our Chantilly and Park Road music programs are proud to offer our first joint parent-child class to explore the Orff-Schulwerk process. What is Orff-Schulwerk? It is a method of teaching music to young musicians that combines music, movement, drama and speech into lessons that are similar to the child's world of play. It is used in music classrooms around the world and closely aligns with the Montessori philosophy and curriculum. We hope you and your family will join us. Ms. Lisa and and Ms. Candace will be headed to dinner at Fuel Pizza afterwards and welcome families to join us. PRM is offering this event to 4th grade Trebles Chorus and Chantilly is offering this event to Chorus members.

We are excited to announce that we have booked you tube and "kid song lit" superstar Emily Arrow to perform at PRM for each grade level on May 9th. Emily partners with prominent "kid lit" authors and writes stories to accompany their wonderful works. We celebrated International Dot Day here at PRM with her songs and stories by Peter H. Reynolds. The kids were so excited they asked if she could come visit from L.A....couldn't hurt to ask, right? We are thrilled she said yes and the kids are excited to read new books and learn new songs as we anticipate her visit. Find out more about Emily here: and here and here.
