Band Prep 6th Grade
Band Prep is a new course offering in the 2016/17 school year.. The course will use classroom instruments (recorder, ukulele, drums and other percussion instruments) to teach basic note reading, rhythm and musicianship skills to 6th graders interested in pursuing band in middle school. Throughout the year we will host local musicians to introduce students to band and orchestra offerings at the middle and high school level. Students will participate in two performances during the school year (mandatory) and be offered several field trip opportunities. Ms. Candace will hold an interest meeting in the music room on September 8th at 11:30 am for all interested students. Students interested in participating in Band Prep music attend that information session or schedule a separate audition time. Students who choose to participate in this class will be required to purchase a soprano recorder. Students may opt to purchase a ukulele or use one of our classroom uke's (in class only). More information will be presented at our information session. See form below to RSVP! *Please Note: Students taking this course will receive a grade and be held to attendance expectations.
